Another "Lap the Lake 5k" on the 4th of July at Cowden Lake was a big success! 100 t-shirts were sold and 78 people registered their finish of either the walk or the run. The course followed the same loop as last year and this year we added a water aid station at the boat launch. Finishers completed roughly 3.2 miles in the full loop. 1st place for men was Kevin Goldberg. Women's 1st place finisher was Melanie White. Lucas Kramer took the lead for the kids! Families geared up for the event - sporting red, white and blue and matching outfits! Lots of kids participated (and even some furry friends!) Several winners were excited to write their name down for a free ice-cream cone at Tow's Country Store in Coral. Big thank you to Cowden Lake Association for sponsoring this event and to all who came out to participate or volunteer! Happy 4th of July!
