Lap the Lake 2015 Results
Happy 4th of July! Another year celebrated at Cowden Lake with lots of festivities including a Glow Parade featuring the White's pontoon boat, flares at 10pm and perhaps one of the biggest fireworks displays Cowden Lake has ever seen. Lots of lanterns were let off...maybe next year we coordinate that too?! The day started off with the 4th Annual Lap the Lake 5k. The course was exactly the same as last year - thanks to marking paint that faded but did not entirely go away. Walkers also followed the same loop. We added a 1 mile kid's run this year. It started just up from the 5K start, left on Spence Drive and left again out to Masters. The kids took a right on Masters - headed to the DeYoung/Christians cottages for a turn around and then back to finish at the same spot at the 5k. Thank you to all who helped out and those who participated! Kevin Goldberg and Melanie White defended their crowns with another first place finish. Lucas Kramer again held the lead for the youngsters in the 5k. Cards that were turned in after the run and were matched with the times recorded at the finish in order to compile the results below.
